Charles Chambers, Class of 1986
Since graduating from “47” and then from the work-study program in 1986, Charles Chambers has worked as a dental assistant at Bellevue Hospital for nearly 30 years. He assists the hygienist, who works with both deaf and hearing patients. He also works part-time at “47,” where he sees students and employees walking the halls he once walked as a student.
He has served as a role model for deaf patients and deaf students served by the clinic and at “47.”
In recognition of and appreciation for his extraordinary achievement in his profession working closely with the Deaf community, “47” Alumni Association of the Deaf is honored to present the “Young Alumni Achievement Award” to Charles Chambers.
