100th Anniversary Celebration of “47” – June 1, 2008

100th Anniversary Celebration of “47” a Huge Success!

On Sunday June 1, 2008, nearly 500 alumni, teachers, administrators, and friends came together at a banquet to celebrate the school’s 100th anniversary.  The event took place at the Terrace on the Park in the Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, and was one the most successful and memorable days.  The entertainment, the music, the delightful master of ceremonies, the food, the photographic presentation of our school days, and the rekindling of lifelong friendships were among the highlights.  The banquet room was spectacular with its panoramic view of the area where the 1964 New York World’s Fair and the 1939 New York World’s Fair were held, along with views of the Shea Stadium, the Unisphere, the tennis stadium and especially of the city.  The views and experiences wove beautifully together with the afternoon’s festivities. Everyone had a wonderful time at the banquet.

The banquet also celebrates the culmination of five-day events –
